Bio
Pamela King, Partner and Co-Founder of Able City East, has over 24 years of expertise in architecture and urban planning. She is dedicated to helping communities around the world to articulate and achieve their visions for the future. She specializes in leading the design of illustrative plans that promote walkability and sustainability, collaborating closely with the public. Pamela excels in directing multi-disciplinary teams, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, business owners, and residents to transform visions into tangible realities. Her project portfolio spans downtown and corridor vision plans, comprehensive plans, form-based codes, and community development strategies. She has navigated both public and private sectors, discerning the nuanced needs of each and how they can work together. Her guidance enables communities to navigate pathways forward, securing funding through grants and other funding streams.
Pamela served as editor and illustrator for two seminal planning books, authored by Jason King: “The Climate Planner” and “The Equity Planner.” Beyond her professional achievements, Pamela finds joy in spending time with her husband and raising their two children in both South Florida and New England.
